WALO has been successfully applying hydrodynamics in the field of construction for more than 20 years.

All tasks related to “hydrodynamic removal” involve the use of ultra-high water pressure systems and the removal robots that come with them: cleaning of components, roughening, removal or stripping of concrete surfaces.

The uniqueness of this method is best demonstrated in the repair of building structures when the existing reinforcement can be uncovered without vibrations or structure-borne noise (which is normal with conventional systems) and without it incurring even the slightest bit of damage.

Ultra-high performance fibre reinforced concrete (UHPC) has compressive strength in excess of 150 N/mm2. This allows for the production of very filigree, light and resource-friendly components.

Since 2014, WALO has had a UHPC paver from its own in-house development and production and has used it to incorporate UHPC as a static reinforcement into the world’s first bridge surface of more than 50,000 m2. The combination of highly qualified employees, the tailor-made mixing plant of Walo Bertschinger AG and outstanding material technology allows for more sustainable construction projects.
