Locations
With our locations in three countries, we are successfully active for you worldwide.
500-550 cooperative flats were built on the 35,000 m2 plot, 400 of them on the part of the site intended for new buildings and about 130 in the converted hospital building. In addition, there was space for neighbourhood uses, services and small businesses.
We were commissioned to realise the surrounding project for Westfeld Basel. The surrounding project includes the entire outdoor space as well as a narrow allmen area along Hegenheimerstrasse and part of the surroundings of the Felix-Platter-Spital. The areas are largely accessible to the public and, beyond the site, make a contribution to supplementing the open space and footpath offerings for ecological networking as well as for strengthening and revitalising the neighbourhood. The work includes 23,000 m2 of terrain modelling, paving (approx. 8,000 m2), a fountain construction (incl. irrigation technology) and seven tree troughs made of natural stone, equipment and furnishings, as well as all works piping over a length of 2,900 metres. The existing green belt along Ensisheimerstrasse will be additionally upgraded with some interventions in the course of the project.
Between the newly built Felix-Platter-Spital and the new Westfeld building, the forum will open up and lead into the neighbourhood square in front of the converted hospital building. A stone carpet of natural stone slabs lends the place a high value. In contrast to the stone forum and the neighbourhood square, the neighbourhood garden is primarily green and covered with trees.
We appreciate your interest in the WALO Group and will be happy to answer any questions you may have.
