... is the motto in the new Riedmatt shopping center in Rümlang (ZH).
As a center of attraction in the region, the commercial building received an expansion and revitalization and now appears much friendlier and more spacious, not least because of the light-colored HALTOPEX® flooring.
The versatile HALTOPEX® rubber granulate flooring was not only installed in individual stores, but also serves as a safe and easy-to-clean floor covering on the heavily used main walkways in the center of the mall. Wood and aluminum inlays in the flooring set visual accents, while darker HALTOPEX® lines provide a varied setting for the surfaces. The necessary stability of the sub-layers is ensured by DURATEX® screeds and hard concretes, while cement tiles and synthetic resin mortars from WALO were used as leveling layers.
Conventional paving in the area of the mall would have meant a major disruption to the general progress of the construction work, since the large area of 2,600 m2 not only represented the central thoroughfare for the entire construction, but a large part of the work of other companies also had to take place here. After consultation with the site management, WALO planned the paving concept in such a way that a full closure of this important area could be avoided and other trades were not hindered. By using an innovative paver, the paving time was also reduced by 30%.
