New construction EFH Alder Trottenstrasse 64 Zurich

An architecturally striking building was created in the residential area of Zurich Wipkingen, which is characterized above all by its central location and the quiet urban neighborhood conditions.

Project description

In the residential area of Zurich Wipkingen, an independent building was constructed next to the Trotte retirement center, which was built at the same time. The building is characterized above all by its central location and the quiet urban neighborhood conditions.

The building consists of four floors with a basement. Thanks to the chosen shape of the building and especially its height, one can look forward to a fantastic view over Zurich. The architecturally striking building has an optimal orientation of light and rooms due to the placement of the window areas.

Special features

The work carried out included the shell, the facade masonry and the plaster work. The I+L rolled bricks, which were shown on the production side and bricked without machined joints, are the main feature of the building. The pentagonal floor plan, the sloped concrete roof surfaces, the visual requirements of the concrete, which is always sharp-edged, and the masonry, which is as unfinished as possible, were a great challenge. Good cooperation between designers and contractors resulted in a high-quality building that satisfied every party involved in the construction.
