Who we are
Anchored in Switzerland and internationally active, WALO is managed as a family business in the 4th and 5th generation. For over 100 years, WALO has focused on the combination of consistency and innovation.
What we do
WALO is active as an innovative total solutions company in all markets of the construction industry. The family-owned company has established itself as a reliable partner in the construction industry and infrastructure projects in Switzerland and worldwide with its decades of experience and the permanent development of sustainable as well as economical solutions.
Projects
We have successfully implemented many challenging projects. Therefore, we proudly let our references speak for our work.
Products
Whether residential, industrial, healthcare, outdoor or for sports and leisure facilities - seamless floor coverings have to meet a wide variety of requirements on a permanent basis.
Career
Good buildings and thus satisfied customers require precise construction work. All our employees, from unskilled workers to engineers, play a key role in ensuring that we achieve this goal time and time again.
Locations
With our locations in three countries, we are successfully active for you worldwide.
On the A2 freeway from Lucerne in the direction of Brünig or Gotthard, one currently drives through the two and a half kilometer long construction site in Hergiswil. The construction site begins approx. 150 m after the Spier tunnel up to and including access ramps N08, from and to Sarnen.
The client is pursuing three project goals with the initiated measures:
In view of higher traffic volumes, the emergency lane will be widened by approx. 1.50 m on the lake side. This makes it possible to convert the emergency lane into a temporary third lane during traffic peaks in the northbound direction.
The fire protection no longer meets current requirements and must be renovated. The goal is to achieve an improvement in noise protection. This in view of the fact that the nearest properties are located immediately behind the highway.
In addition, the building is not considered earthquake-proof. This is to be achieved by bracing the gallery.
The greatest challenges in the project are the complex construction sequences with strongly changing personnel, coordinated with the demands of the respective construction phases, as well as the limited space for personnel and installations.
