Auried boathouse

The listed boathouse in Auried in Au was in a very dilapidated condition due to subsidence and leaning and was in need of urgent refurbishment.

Project description

The listed boathouse in Auried in Au was in a very dilapidated condition due to subsidence and leaning and was in need of urgent renovation. As-built surveys and structural investigations revealed large settlements and deformations of the building and the associated jetty, which endangered the overall stability. Furthermore, the existing seawall was also in danger of collapsing and the stairway leading down to the lake had already collapsed. As a result, the foundation of the building was strengthened by means of micropiles and reinforced concrete beams, and the jetty at the boathouse was renewed. The damaged wood on the existing bathhouse extension and bathing platform was replaced. The construction measures included the following works: Underwater micropiling, diving work, underwater concrete work and carpentry work.

Special features

The refurbishment presented some challenges: no additional loads were allowed to be applied to the existing foundation during construction. The measures had to be implemented in such a way that the resulting loads in the construction and final state were transferred via the new piles. Access to the boathouse could only be made via the lake path or with small equipment, as only narrow paths were available. About 100 m as the crow flies in a southeasterly direction in the lake is a breeding site for common terns, which were not to be disturbed and the fish protection periods had to be observed.
