By choosing terrazzo, you are opting for a flooring system which was already wooing audiences back in ancient Rome and in the palaces of Venice. The modern-day cousin of this old handicraft is known as SURFATEX® terrazzo.
With its seamless beauty punctuated by warm, glimmering colours, SURFATEX® terrazzo can be found wherever a special atmosphere is required or where flooring with major aesthetic appeal is a must. In addition to aesthetic considerations, SURFATEX® also makes an ideal closed, finely honed flooring thanks to its many practical benefits: easy to clean, highly resistant to pressure, abrasion and weather conditions and easily recyclable.
SURFATEX® terrazzo flooring systems consist of a variety of pebble mixtures from all over the world which are combined and installed on site. As part of this process, WALO specialists use special equipment to give a unique finish that suits the pebble size of your choice and ensures maximum waterproofing.
On top of this, additional aesthetic effects are achieved by adding in colour pigments and fitting mosaic elements. Brass, chrome-plated steel or coloured plastic joint profiles can also be installed, or even little dotted lights made from fibre optic cables. The joint patterns depend on the type of construction and architectural impact.
Thanks to WALO, what was once a traditional handicraft has now become a range of modern terrazzo floorings ideally suited to your 21st-century architecture.
